Bank Frick
Bank Frick is a private bank in Balzers, Liechtenstein, that works mainly for financial intermediaries, fund managers, fintechs and companies from the crypto sector. Its clients trade and hold crypto-assets in the same banking relationship as their accounts and securities, and blockchain firms keep their business accounts there in Swiss francs, euros, dollars or pounds.
Kuno Frick, a Liechtenstein fiduciary, founded the bank with partners in 1998, and the Kuno Frick Family Foundation still owns it. In 2018 Bank Frick began to trade and hold cryptocurrencies for clients, according to the bank as the first bank in Europe to do so in the regulated banking environment. It employs about 300 people and runs branches in London and Dubai.
Bank Frick crypto custody, trading and staking
Bank Frick trades and holds cryptocurrencies for its clients and reports these positions in the same statements as all other asset classes. Its list includes Ethereum, Cardano, Cosmos, Polkadot, Polygon, Solana and Tezos, and the bank later added Avalanche, Chainlink and NEAR Protocol. Further tokens, including ERC-20 and CMTA20 tokens, are checked on request, and the bank publishes no binding acceptance list. Professional clients use this crypto custody next to their accounts and securities at the same bank.
Bank Frick offers staking for ETH, ADA, XTZ, SOL, DOT, POL and ATOM. It works with staking providers audited under SOC 2 Type II, and a whitelist lets staking accounts interact only with verified smart contracts. Clients can end staking at any time through their advisor, but the coins stay blocked during the unbonding period of each protocol.
Business accounts for crypto and blockchain companies
Blockchain companies and crypto businesses open current accounts at Bank Frick for payments, securities and card transactions in CHF, EUR, USD, GBP and other convertible currencies. Founders who domicile a crypto company in Liechtenstein receive an incorporation account, and the bank issues the proof of capital that the commercial register requires.
The payment service Bank Frick xPULSE settles payments in the same currency between clients of the bank outside cut-off times, seven days a week and at no extra cost. Crypto exchanges, market makers and brokers bank there too, so clients can fund an exchange account and place buy orders without waiting for the next business day. Spot foreign exchange through xPULSE runs from Monday 6:00 to Friday 22:00 CET.
MiCA notification, SIX custody and crypto ETPs
Under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation, Bank Frick notified the Liechtenstein Financial Market Authority on 23 December 2025 that it holds crypto-assets for clients, executes their orders and transfers crypto-assets on their behalf. As a bank it uses the notification route of Article 60 and needs no separate CASP license for these three services.
SIX has authorized Bank Frick as a custodian for crypto-assets, and the bank acts as depositary for crypto ETPs. Since 2025 the bank also holds an ISO 27001 certificate for its information security management.

It has issued tokenized fund shares for a real estate alternative investment fund and took part in the first loan securitization that ran fully on a blockchain. The bank is a member of the Multichain Asset Managers Association.
Sponsored Access to RULEMATCH and the trading network
Bank Frick was the first bank to give institutional clients Sponsored Access to RULEMATCH, a crypto trading venue whose European company holds a MiCA license in Liechtenstein. Clients connect through a smart order router, FIX, OUCH or a web interface and send orders straight to the central limit order book, without routing them through the systems of the bank.
The bank names Circle, LMAX Digital, bitFlyer, Stillman Digital and WX Capital as partners in its trading network. Crypto Finance, the digital asset company of Deutsche Börse, is part of the same network.
