Money20/20 Europe in Amsterdam

Money20/20 Europe calls itself "Europe's #1 Fintech Event", and for a payments or banking team it is the one week in the year when the counterparties, processors and regulators you deal with all year are in the same building. The next edition runs from June 8 to 10, 2027 at The RAI in Amsterdam.

The Money20/20 Europe homepage shows the 2027 Amsterdam edition and event branding.

Who organizes Money20/20 Europe

The organizer is Informa Events (Europe) Limited, part of the Informa events group, which also runs the Money20/20 editions outside Europe. The organizer's site describes the event as the place where "historymakers gather to define what's next" and names banking, payments, technology, retail, policy, crypto and cybersecurity as the sectors it brings together.

For the 2026 edition the organizer states 7,500+ attendees from 105+ countries and around 2,300 companies, with one in three attendees in a C-suite role. That seniority is what distinguishes it from a developer conference: the people on the floor can sign.

What the program covers

Payments and banking carry the agenda. Open banking and the European payment account rules, card and account-to-account competition, account-to-account payments, fraud and authentication, and the digital euro as a retail and wholesale project all have sessions, and the regulatory track follows what the European Commission and the supervisors have in motion.

Digital assets form one track inside that, not the whole event: stablecoins as a settlement instrument, tokenized deposits, and tokenization in the payment chain. AI in finance runs through the program as well, from underwriting to fraud defense, and the organizer's agenda has carried sessions on decentralized identity and deepfake prevention.

Who goes, and what it is useful for

Banks, payment service providers, card networks, acquirers, fintech firms and their investors make up the floor, together with the policy side. A product owner who needs a provider, a bank that is choosing a processor, and a fintech firm raising money all use the three days as a meeting calendar rather than as a lecture series.

For German institutions it is the closest large payments event by travel time, and the Dutch and Nordic markets are strongly represented. Finance Loop members who work in payments use it to compare providers before a procurement starts; the fintech in Europe page sets out the wider picture, and fintech in Amsterdam covers the host city.

When is Money20/20 Europe 2027?

Money20/20 Europe 2027 takes place from June 8 to 10, 2027 at The RAI in Amsterdam, as the organizer's website states. The RAI is the Amsterdam exhibition and congress center in the Zuid district, and the conference has used it for several editions in a row.

Is Money20/20 Europe a crypto conference?

No. It is a payments and banking conference with a digital asset track, which makes it useful for a bank that wants both subjects in one trip. A conference built for digital assets alone, such as the European Blockchain Convention or the Crypto Assets Conference, goes deeper on custody, settlement and MiCA.

What else should a payments team see in Europe?

The European payments year has several fixed points besides Amsterdam, and payments in Europe explains how the market is organized. In Germany, the Frankfurt events put the Bundesbank and the commercial banks on the same stage, and Finance Loop runs its own payments meetups and webinars between the large conferences.

Money20/20 Europe and Finance Loop

Finance Loop is the meeting place for payments and digital money in European finance: its members run payment products at banks, build the rails at processors and supervise them on the policy side, and they coordinate their Amsterdam meetings through the network. Finance Loop covers the conference's subjects in its Payments & Digital Money track, from account-to-account payments to stablecoin settlement.

Finance Loop is a professional network and has the goal of driving the adoption of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and DeFi. Finance Loop helps its members build skills and personal networks in these fields: Investment & Digital Assets, Payments & Digital Money, Digital Infrastructure & Sovereignty, and Risk & Compliance.
