PAYONE processes card and account payments for 277,000 customers in Germany and Austria. It is a joint venture of Worldline and the DSV Group of the savings banks, based in Frankfurt, and it was among the first acquirers to take Wero payments in German online shops.

It reports 5.4 billion transactions a year for 277,000 customers, about 1,300 employees at three locations, and names Deutsche Bahn and Rossmann among its customers (PAYONE). Worldline holds 60 percent of the company and the DSV Group 40 percent (Worldline).
Wero in German online shops
PAYONE offers Wero to merchants and service providers across Germany, as an acquirer and a licensed payment service provider. After pilot transactions with selected merchants, its membership in the European Payments Initiative lets it accept Wero in online shops, with acceptance in stores planned from 2026 (PAYONE). PAYONE lists buyer protection, explicit consumer consent for each payment, fewer chargebacks and low transaction costs among the benefits for merchants. As an acquirer PAYONE signs up merchants, accepts their card payments and pays out the funds.
