Yuh

Yuh is a Swiss finance app for paying, saving and investing, launched in 2021 by Swissquote and PostFinance and fully owned by Swissquote since 2025. The bank accounts behind the app are opened at Swissquote, which FINMA supervises, and the app lists 50 crypto tokens that clients can trade at any hour of the day, also in fractions from CHF 10.

Each crypto trade costs 1 percent of the amount, and Yuh charges no custody fee. Swissquote holds most of the coins in direct custody through its crypto exchange SQX, and Yuh pays part of its revenue to its users through its own token Swissqoin, which clients earn for deposits, trades and card payments.

Yuh crypto: 50 tokens around the clock

Clients find the crypto offer in the investment area of the Yuh app, which currently lists 50 tokens, and they can trade them at any time of day or night. Every trade runs at once and shows up in the app immediately, and price charts come from TradingView. Clients can buy fractions of a coin from CHF 10, so an expensive coin does not need a large first purchase.

The app also explains crypto topics in its learning area YuhLearn, for example the bitcoin halving, when the number of newly created bitcoins is cut in half.

Fees: 1 percent per crypto trade

A crypto trade in the Yuh app costs 1 percent of the amount, and Yuh charges no custody fee for crypto or securities. Shares and ETFs cost 0.50 percent up to CHF 10,000, 0.35 percent up to CHF 20,000 and 0.25 percent above that, and recurring purchases of eligible ETFs cost nothing. The account, the debit Mastercard and transfers within Switzerland are free, and currency exchange costs 0.95 percent.

Custody at Swissquote and sub-custodians

Yuh keeps most of the digital assets of its users in direct crypto custody at Swissquote, which is also the main liquidity provider through its exchange SQX. The custody setup uses multi-signature wallets, offline storage of key material and strict access control. Only small amounts needed for daily trading sit with sub-custodians, namely Coinbase, Bitstamp Europe and Payward, which runs Kraken.

Under Swiss law, the coins of clients stay separate from the assets of the custodian if it goes bankrupt. Yuh adds that this cannot be fully guaranteed yet, because case law and regulatory practice on this point are still missing.

Swissqoin: the revenue token

With the token Swissqoin (SWQ), Yuh shares part of its revenue with its users, and it reinvests in the token once a year. A first deposit of CHF 500 brings 250 SWQ, a referral 500 SWQ, each trade 5 SWQ up to 50 SWQ a day and each card payment 0.5 SWQ. Clients can sell their Swissqoins at any time through Instant Sale, give them to other Yuh users or keep them.

Since the launch Yuh has credited CHF 3,119,461.25 to the token, of which CHF 98,415 came in the latest funding round, and it names 2027 for the next one.

Opening a Yuh account

Clients open the account in the Yuh app without paying for it, and they finish the opening with a first deposit of at least 500 Swiss francs or euros. Besides the account, the app offers saving projects, a pillar 3a pension plan, a joint account and Yuh 14+ for young clients. Help comes by phone, by message and in the chat of the app, and none of these channels costs anything.

Yuh Bank and Swissquote

Yuh started in 2021 as a joint venture of Swissquote and PostFinance, and in 2025 Swissquote bought the PostFinance stake and became the sole owner. Yuh is no bank of its own, because Swissquote opens the accounts, and the imprint gives the Swissquote address at Chemin de la Crétaux 33 in Gland. The app sponsors the Bern football club Young Boys, which plays in the Swiss Super League.
