CoinShares
CoinShares is an investment company for digital assets, founded in 2013 with its headquarters in Jersey and offices in France, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States. CoinShares issues exchange-traded products on bitcoin, ether, Solana and other crypto assets, manages funds and mandates, and reports more than 6 billion US dollars in assets under management.
The holding company CoinShares PLC has traded on Nasdaq in New York since April 2026, after an earlier listing in Stockholm. The French subsidiary CoinShares Asset Management has been allowed to offer advice and portfolio management on crypto assets under MiCA since July 2025, based on a notification to the French regulator AMF.
From Jersey to Nasdaq
Jean-Marie Mognetti leads CoinShares as co-founder and chief executive, and the group has offered crypto investment products since 2014. CoinShares listed its shares in Stockholm in 2021 and began trading on Nasdaq on 1 April 2026 under the ticker CSHR, after a merger with the listed acquisition company Vine Hill Capital that valued CoinShares at about 1.2 billion US dollars before new money.
The group is supervised by the Jersey Financial Services Commission, by the AMF in France and, in the United States, by the SEC, the NFA and FINRA. CoinShares International Limited became a wholly owned subsidiary of the new holding company CoinShares PLC.
MiCA notification of CoinShares Asset Management
CoinShares Asset Management is a French asset management company with full authorization as an AIF manager and a MiFID license for portfolio management and advice. On 17 July 2025 the AMF registered its notification under Article 60 of MiCA, with the number N2025-002 on its white list, for advice on crypto assets and portfolio management of crypto assets.
The ESMA interim MiCA register lists passport notifications for seven further countries: Germany, Cyprus, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta and the Netherlands. CoinShares called its subsidiary the first regulated asset manager in continental Europe with such a permission under MiCA.
Crypto ETPs for institutional portfolios
An exchange-traded product on a crypto asset lets a bank, a fund or a pension scheme buy exposure through its usual securities account, with custody and settlement through the existing infrastructure. CoinShares issues such crypto ETPs, among them physically backed products such as CoinShares Physical Bitcoin, and staking ETPs on Ethereum, Solana and Sei that pass staking rewards to investors.
For asset managers that build portfolios with crypto assets, the MiCA notification of the French unit covers advice and mandates. The ETPs themselves are securities and follow the prospectus rules for listed products, not the white paper rules of MiCA.

What is CoinShares?
CoinShares is a European asset manager for digital assets that issues crypto ETPs, runs active strategies and provides research and indices. CoinShares was founded in 2013, is based in Jersey and trades on Nasdaq through its holding company CoinShares PLC.
CoinShares Physical Bitcoin and other ETPs
CoinShares Physical Bitcoin is an ETP backed by bitcoin, and investors trade it on stock exchanges in the same way as a share. The range also covers ether, Solana and other crypto assets, and the Ethereum staking ETP charges no management fee and passes on staking rewards.
Shares on Nasdaq and in Stockholm
Shares of CoinShares PLC have traded on Nasdaq under the ticker CSHR since 1 April 2026. Before the merger with Vine Hill Capital, CoinShares had been listed in Stockholm since 2021, and investor relations information is published by the holding company.
Staking ETPs on Ethereum, Solana and Sei
Staking ETPs hold coins of proof of stake networks, stake them through validators and add the rewards to the value of the product. CoinShares offers such products on Ethereum, Solana and Sei, so an investor receives staking income without running validators, a model that staking in crypto ETFs explains in detail.
Regulators of the CoinShares group
The Jersey Financial Services Commission supervises the group in Jersey, the AMF supervises CoinShares Asset Management in France, and in the United States the SEC, the NFA and FINRA supervise the American companies. The MiCA notification in France adds crypto advice and portfolio management to the existing licenses of the French unit.
