G-20 Group
G-20 Group is a trading firm headquartered in Switzerland that trades currencies, digital assets and commodities in delta-one and derivatives markets. Delta-one products, such as spot positions and futures, gain or lose one to one with the price of the asset they track. The firm was established in 2010, started out in foreign exchange and later expanded into crypto markets.
Liquidity provision is the first of its three services: as a market maker, G-20 Group quotes buy and sell prices on exchanges, on onchain venues and for over-the-counter trades, so that a token or contract can change hands without large price jumps. The firm also runs treasury strategies for clients, advises companies and foundations on liquidity and token design, and invests in digital economy projects.
Liquidity in currencies, commodities and digital assets
G-20 Group came to market making from the foreign exchange market and has since added commodities and digital assets to the markets it covers. The firm runs its proprietary trading techniques on exchange-traded and onchain venues, in spot, futures and options markets, and it also executes trades over the counter. According to G-20 Group, these activities add up to trading volumes of several billion dollars each year.
In May 2026, CME Group announced that the first trades in its new futures on Avalanche and Sui were block trades between G-20 Group and FalconX. Regulated crypto futures of this kind let funds hedge or take a position on a token through an exchange, without holding the token in a wallet.
Treasury management and advisory for token projects
For treasury management, G-20 Group builds strategies for yield generation, diversification and long-term capital management. Clients use these strategies through software that the firm operates, and G-20 Group bases them on experience from traditional finance.
The advisory team of G-20 Group works with companies and foundations from several industries on growth, scaling, liquidity, token design, go-to-market strategy, treasury management and mergers and acquisitions. Token design covers the supply, allocation and release schedule of a token, which together decide how much of it can trade after launch and how much liquidity the market needs.
Investments in infrastructure, DeFi, stablecoins and AI
G-20 Group invests across the digital economy with a focus on infrastructure, DeFi, stablecoins and AI-driven technologies, and it has backed more than 60 projects since its founding. The firm is also an anchor investor and limited partner in venture funds. Its portfolio has two groups: infrastructure and protocols such as Safe, Bitlayer and Zircuit, and digital asset treasury companies such as SharpLink and Forward Industries.
G-20 Group also publishes research papers that readers can request through a short form. The papers include Beyond Bitcoin from January 2025, Berkshire Hathaway of DATs from January 2026 and The AI Stack from May 2026.
Market-making records on the Forgd platform
In May 2026, G-20 Group announced a partnership with Forgd, a platform that helps blockchain projects with tokenomics, market maker selection and exchange listings. G-20 Group supplies anonymized and aggregated data about its market-making activity, so that a project can review its historical track record before it signs a contract.
Projects see order-book depth and spreads, uptime and service levels, and the behavior of quotes during volatile periods. G-20 Group also connects to the request-for-quotation workflow of Forgd, where proposals for market-making mandates are weighed against the past record of the bidding firm. Jonathan Mathai, co-founder and head of trading at G-20 Group, said that founders need consistent and measurable indicators to judge liquidity partners.

Is G-20 a crypto market maker?
Yes, G-20 Group provides market making in digital assets on exchanges and onchain venues, next to its older business in currencies and commodities. Since May 2026, token projects can also check its market-making record on the Forgd platform before they choose a liquidity partner.
What does a crypto market maker do?
A market maker quotes buy and sell prices for a token at the same time and earns the spread between them, which keeps the order book deep enough for others to trade. Token projects often hire a market maker for the period after a listing, under a contract with targets for spreads, order-book depth and uptime.
What are digital asset treasury companies?
Digital asset treasury companies are listed firms that hold a crypto asset such as bitcoin or ether as a main part of their balance sheet and raise capital to buy more of it. G-20 Group lists several of them in its portfolio and published a paper on the model under the title Berkshire Hathaway of DATs.
