Scorechain

Scorechain is a blockchain analytics company from Luxembourg that helps banks and crypto firms see where crypto-assets come from and where they go. Scorechain labels wallet addresses on more than 20 blockchains and scores the risk of each address and transfer. Compliance teams use these scores to meet anti-money laundering rules before they credit a deposit or release a payment.

Scorechain SA has built blockchain intelligence since 2015 and runs its infrastructure in certified data centers in Europe. More than 350 compliance and digital asset teams use the platform, among them exchanges, custodians, banks and payment providers. Regulators and law enforcement agencies form a separate customer group and use the same data to trace funds in investigations.

Wallet screening and transaction monitoring

Scorechain sells two core compliance products, and the first is wallet screening, a check of one address at a single moment. Before a deposit is credited or a withdrawal leaves, the check shows whether the wallet has exposure to sanctioned or other high-risk counterparties. The result is a risk level that runs from low to critical, together with the entities and transaction patterns behind it. Scorechain counts more than one billion labeled entities and more than 2,800 due-diligence reviews of virtual asset service providers in its data.

The second product, transaction monitoring, applies scenarios to wallets and transfers in real time or at daily, monthly or yearly intervals. Compliance teams define the scenarios themselves from transaction behavior, velocity and exposure, and every breach creates an alert for an analyst. Through a custody integration, an alert can also block a transaction or freeze assets before they move. The approach follows the logic of transaction monitoring in AML at banks, applied to the public data of blockchains.

Travel Rule API under the Transfer of Funds Regulation

Since 30 December 2024, the Transfer of Funds Regulation has required crypto-asset service providers in the EU to send the name and wallet address of the originator and the beneficiary with each transfer of crypto-assets, whatever its amount. For a transfer above 1,000 euros from a self-hosted address, the provider of the beneficiary must also check whether its customer controls that address. This is the EU version of the Travel Rule in FATF Recommendation 16.

The Travel Rule API of Scorechain gives exchanges, custodians, payment service providers and banks one endpoint for submitting originator and beneficiary data. Scorechain routes the data through the infrastructure of an established Travel Rule partner, so a provider needs no separate integration for each counterparty. The API is available without the transaction monitoring product, and Scorechain also partners with CryptoSwift, a provider of end-to-end Travel Rule software.

Banks, CASPs and stablecoin issuers as customers

Scorechain serves crypto exchanges, wallet providers, DeFi platforms and token issuers as well as banks, brokers, asset managers and payment providers. In February 2024, Scorechain announced DZ BANK as a customer after a selection process at the bank. DZ BANK, the third-largest custodian in Germany, began building a digital custody platform for institutional clients in 2022. Other users include the Swiss online bank Swissquote, the asset servicing group CACEIS and the French bank Banque Delubac, along with Fireblocks for wallet infrastructure and Taurus for custody technology.

Stablecoin issuers use Token & Stablecoin Monitoring to follow holders and transactions across the full circulation of a token, with audit trails for MiCA and FATF expectations. In October 2025, Scorechain joined the Circle Alliance Program as an analytics partner for institutions that use USDC and EURC, the stablecoins of Circle.

MiCA and the Anti-Money Laundering Regulation

Under MiCA, a firm may provide crypto-asset services in the EU only as an authorized crypto-asset service provider or as an already regulated institution such as a credit institution. These rules have applied since 30 December 2024, and the authorization path for crypto firms is the CASP license.

The Anti-Money Laundering Regulation applies directly in all EU member states from 10 July 2027 and lists credit institutions and crypto-asset service providers as obliged entities. Article 40 requires crypto-asset service providers to assess the risk of transfers to or from a self-hosted address and to apply measures such as stricter ongoing monitoring. The regulation belongs to the EU AML package, and Scorechain sells wallet screening and transaction monitoring for this part of crypto AML.

Luxembourg base, ISO certification and EU research

Scorechain SA has its registered office in Belvaux in Luxembourg and is listed in the Luxembourg trade register under number B199146. Pierre Gerard is the chief executive officer of the company. Since May 2024, Scorechain has been a member of LëtzBlock, the blockchain association in Luxembourg.

In April 2026, Scorechain received ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification from Insight Assurance for its platform, API and transaction monitoring, valid until April 2029. For law enforcement, Scorechain supplies blockchain analytics to EU projects such as CryptoAction, which helps police investigate crypto crime, and CutTheCord, which works on disrupting terrorist financing.

What is Scorechain AI?

Scorechain AI is a paid self-service tool that checks a crypto address on 23 blockchains for exposure to fraud and ransomware. The report shows whether a wallet belongs to an exchange, a mixer, a darknet service or a private user, and an AI summary explains the main risk indicators.

Free sanctions API and Telegram AML bot

The free sanctions API checks whether an address appears on supported sanctions lists, for non-commercial use and up to 100 requests per hour. The Telegram AML bot screens wallet addresses and reports incoming and outgoing transfers, and users pay per check without a subscription.

Wallet screening vs transaction monitoring

Wallet screening checks one address at a single point in time, for example when a customer adds a withdrawal address or makes a first deposit. Transaction monitoring keeps checking wallets and transfers against rules on velocity and exposure, so it also catches risks that appear after onboarding.

Crypto AML software for banks

Scorechain offers its platform to custodians, retail and corporate banks, asset managers and payment firms that hold or move crypto-assets for clients. DZ BANK added the Scorechain solution to its digital custody platform for institutional clients in 2024, and under the AMLR, credit institutions are obliged entities just like crypto-asset service providers.

Crypto investigations and fund tracing

Scorechain runs crypto investigation services for individuals and small businesses who believe they have been scammed, with a structured report on how the funds moved onchain. The service cannot stop or reverse transactions and does not replace a report to the authorities. Inside the platform, the Flux Analysis tool draws transaction flows as a graph, a method that banks and investigators also use in blockchain forensics.

Scorechain and Finance Loop

Finance Loop covers crypto AML, the Travel Rule and transaction monitoring in its Risk & Compliance track, where MiCA and the EU anti-money laundering rules set the duties that the customers of Scorechain have to meet. Scorechain was a partner of CV Summit 2026, the blockchain and AI conference of CV Labs at the Kongresshaus Zurich on 29 and 30 September 2026.
