Bridge stablecoin
Bridge is a US company that builds stablecoin infrastructure for businesses. Through its APIs, companies receive, store, convert, issue and spend stablecoins and move money between bank accounts and blockchains. Zach Abrams and Sean Yu founded Bridge in 2022, and the payments company Stripe bought it for 1.1 billion US dollars in February 2025.
In the European Economic Area, Bridge works through Bridge Building S.A. in Luxembourg. The Luxembourg financial regulator CSSF has authorized the company as an e-money institution and as a crypto-asset service provider under MiCA. Bridge Building S.A. issues the Revolut Euro, the euro stablecoin that Revolut sells to its customers.
Stripe and Bridge
Stripe closed the purchase of Bridge in February 2025 at 1.1 billion US dollars, its largest acquisition so far, NBC reported. Zach Abrams and Sean Yu had worked at Coinbase and Square before they started Bridge, and Bridge had raised 58 million US dollars from investors before the sale. Its website shows Bridge as a Stripe company.
Revolut Euro: Bridge as issuer in Luxembourg
Bridge Building S.A. is registered in Luxembourg and holds two CSSF authorizations, according to Bridge: as an electronic money institution (W00000024) and as a crypto-asset service provider (N00000012). Since 20 August 2026 the company has issued the Revolut Euro (EURR), which Revolut sells in its app and on its exchange Revolut X. Bridge holds the euro reserves, and Revolut Digital Assets Europe distributes the token, Finance Magnates reported. The token runs on Ethereum and Polygon.
Open Issuance: stablecoins for other companies
With Open Issuance, Stripe and Bridge let a business launch its own stablecoin with a few lines of code. Bridge handles reserve management, liquidity, security and compliance with the US GENIUS Act. The wallet company Phantom was the first business to issue a stablecoin on Open Issuance, Blockworks reported in September 2025.
National trust bank charter in the US
In February 2026 the US Office of the Comptroller of the Currency gave Bridge conditional approval to organize Bridge National Trust Bank, The Block reported. With a final charter, Bridge could hold digital assets in custody, issue stablecoins and manage their reserves under federal supervision. Bridge links the step to the GENIUS Act, the US stablecoin law.
