ComplyAdvantage

ComplyAdvantage develops software and risk data for detecting potential financial crime. The ComplyAdvantage Mesh platform combines customer and payment screening with transaction monitoring, using information such as sanctions lists, politically exposed persons and adverse media.

Banks, payment firms and other businesses need to assess who they deal with and investigate activity that may indicate money laundering or sanctions exposure. ComplyAdvantage brings screening results, alerts and case-management workflows into software that compliance teams can use in their daily work. The system helps prioritize and document reviews; a screening match is a signal to assess, not proof that a customer has committed a crime.

Screening software for banks and payment firms

ComplyAdvantage develops software for financial crime screening and monitoring. The company reports more than 3,000 enterprise customers in 75 countries, including Allianz and Santander. The headquarters of ComplyAdvantage are in London, with hubs in New York, Lisbon, Singapore and Cluj-Napoca. Investors in ComplyAdvantage include Balderton Capital, Index Ventures, Goldman Sachs and Andreessen Horowitz (ComplyAdvantage).

Mesh and agentic AI

Mesh is the risk intelligence platform from ComplyAdvantage for customer screening, transaction monitoring and ongoing due diligence. The company says its agentic AI resolves up to 85 percent of routine alerts on its own while each decision stays defensible to a regulator (ComplyAdvantage). Sumsub uses Mesh as the data layer for its own AML screening. Transaction monitoring for AML covers the monitoring duties of banks.

Payment screening for instant payments

Instant payments leave seconds for a sanctions check. The real-time payment screening from Mesh checks attributes such as debtor and creditor names, BIC codes and reference text against sanctions data or a firm's own lists. A synchronous API returns the screening result inside the payment authorization process. A match creates a case for an analyst, whose decision to release or reject a held payment reaches the payment system through a webhook (Mesh payment screening).

Sanctions compliance in Germany explains the legal duties; instant payments in Europe covers the payment timing.
