DMCC Crypto Centre
The DMCC Crypto Centre is the hub for crypto, blockchain and Web3 companies in the DMCC free zone in Dubai. DMCC opened the center in May 2021 and runs it today from Uptown Tower in the Uptown Dubai district. More than 750 member firms belong to the center, among them the crypto news outlets Cointelegraph and Bitcoin.com, which run regional offices there.
Founders and established crypto firms set up a company through the center and receive a DMCC license for activities such as crypto trading, mining, software development or consulting. Activities that Dubai regulates as virtual asset services also need a license from the Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority, which members apply for through DMCC. Members also get access to accelerator programs, investors and more than ten networking events a year.
Offices, visas and services for members
The DMCC Crypto Centre is part of the crypto and blockchain ecosystem of DMCC, the Dubai free zone with more than 26,000 member companies across all sectors. The center itself counts more than 750 members, and DMCC rents them private furnished offices, shared desks and fully equipped meeting rooms. Member companies qualify for one-year or two-year residency visas in the United Arab Emirates, which they can renew as often as required.
DMCC opened the center in May 2021 in Almas Tower, with co-working space for crypto entrepreneurs and small firms as well as incubator and accelerator programs. Today members reach service providers through the center for legal advice, compliance, tax, insurance, accounting and auditing, banking, company structuring, tokenomics design and tokenization.
Accelerators, investors and ecosystem partners
Members of the DMCC Crypto Centre can apply to four accelerator programs: the Brinc ZK Advancer, the TDeFi & DMCC Accelerator Programme, the CV Labs Accelerator and the Cointelegraph Accelerator. The CV Labs Accelerator is a hybrid program of ten weeks, while the accelerator of Cointelegraph gives early-stage Web3 projects seed funding and marketing support. Through partnerships with Brinc, DWF Labs and CV VC, and with further venture firms and family offices, members have access to more than USD 150 million in venture capital.
The ecosystem partners of the center include the Solana Foundation, which opens its grant program and technical support to members. Further partners named by DMCC are the crypto exchanges Bybit and Crypto.com, the market maker DWF Labs, the security auditor Hacken and the news and services platform Bitcoin.com.
Tokenized commodities with VARA, Crypto.com and Tether
In October 2025, DMCC and the Dubai Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) agreed a partnership on tokenized commodities. The two plan pilot projects that test how gold, diamonds and other commodities can be tokenized and traded on blockchain infrastructure, together with joint workshops and seminars on the benefits, risks and rules of tokenization.
In December 2025, DMCC signed a memorandum of understanding with Crypto.com to examine listings of tokenized commodities on the Crypto.com Exchange, custody models and digital asset payments. As part of that agreement, Crypto.com will run educational and technical programs with the DMCC Crypto Centre. Tether followed in June 2026 with a memorandum on blockchain, tokenization and digital finance, which covers education programs, hackathons and events for the center.
Web3 Unleashed: the hackathon with Bybit
The DMCC Crypto Centre organizes Web3 Unleashed together with the crypto exchange Bybit, and DMCC calls it the largest Web3 hackathon in the Middle East. The first edition awarded USD 100,000 to three projects, and the second edition awarded USD 160,000 to five projects. The third edition awarded USD 140,000 to five winners in November 2025, after 90 international teams had competed in six tracks.
For that third edition, DMCC and Bybit added tracks for decentralized AI (DeFAI) and decentralized science (DeSci) to the existing ones for DeFi, Web3 gaming, SocialFi, infrastructure and tokenization. Ten finalist teams presented their projects live to a jury of experts and investors at S/O Uptown Dubai.
The link to Zug and CV Labs
When the center opened, DMCC announced that CV Labs and its venture capital arm would provide co-working space, advisory services and capital there. CV Labs is the ecosystem builder that CV VC operates in the Crypto Valley around Zug, and CV VC itself invests in early-stage blockchain firms.
In October 2024, DMCC and CV VC signed a collaboration agreement at CV Summit 2024 in Zug to connect the Web3 ecosystems of Dubai and Switzerland. The agreement covers joint workshops, an exchange of workspaces and joint events such as the Web3 Hub during the World Economic Forum in Davos. Members of the DMCC Crypto Centre can use the co-working spaces of CV Labs in Zug, Vaduz, Lisbon, Cape Town and Berlin.

What does a DMCC crypto license cost?
A crypto license in DMCC costs about AED 31,000, depending on the business, and the amount covers company formation and the license application. DMCC puts the processing time for a crypto trading license at about four weeks. Applicants submit a questionnaire on the planned activity, passport copies of all partners, proof of residential address and, where relevant, documents of the parent company.
When a VARA license is needed
A standard DMCC crypto license covers activities that Dubai does not regulate as virtual asset services, such as crypto software development, consulting and trading. Regulated virtual asset activities need an additional license from VARA, which companies apply for through DMCC. DMCC offers more than 15 crypto license types, from crypto trading and mining to virtual asset advisory, management and investment services.
The Crypto Centre Package for new companies
New members can book the DMCC Crypto Centre Package, which takes 70 percent off the license fees in the first year and 50 percent off the renewal fees in the second year. The package also includes a co-working desk in the center, utilities, 24-hour security and access to industry and networking events.
Crypto Tower in Jumeirah Lakes Towers
In January 2025, DMCC and REIT Development announced the Crypto Tower, a 17-story building in Jumeirah Lakes Towers for blockchain, DeFi and Web3 companies. The plans include more than 150,000 square feet of leasable space with nine office floors, three floors for blockchain incubators and investment firms, and one floor for AI innovation. Tenants are to vote on chain and settle shared services through smart contracts.
DMCC Crypto Centre and Finance Loop
Finance Loop covers crypto hubs, the licensing of virtual asset firms and tokenized commodities in the Investment & Digital Assets track. The DMCC Crypto Centre belongs there because its members build crypto businesses under the license rules of DMCC and VARA, while DMCC tests tokenized gold and diamonds with VARA. DMCC was a partner of CV Summit 2026 in Zurich, the blockchain conference organized by CV Labs.
Finance Loop is a professional network and has the goal of driving the institutional use of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, digital payments, cloud and blockchain solutions. Finance Loop helps its members build skills and personal networks in these fields: Investment & Digital Assets, Payments & Digital Money, Digital Infrastructure & Sovereignty, and Risk & Compliance.
