EthCC

EthCC, the Ethereum Community Conference, is a conference about the Ethereum network and the applications built on it. EthCC brings developers and researchers together with businesses and other participants in the Ethereum community. The program covers protocol development, application security and decentralized services built with the technology.

Teams building on Ethereum need to understand changes to the network and the tools available for their applications. Meetings around the conference give participants time to compare technical approaches and discuss projects with other teams.

Who organizes EthCC

Ethereum France organizes the conference. Ethereum France is a French non-profit that works on Ethereum and blockchain in French-speaking countries, and it has run EthCC since the first edition in 2018, as its president Jérôme de Tychey and EthCC lead Bettina Boon Falleur describe in an interview with DL News.

EthCC brings together builders, investors, policymakers, institutions and users. Ethereum France keeps the ticket price low by design so that developers attend alongside institutional delegations.

What the program covers

EthCC starts from capital markets and payments as much as from protocol work. Real-world asset tokenization, stablecoins and global payments, and regulation and compliance each have their own track, which is why compliance and treasury teams travel to it. The engineering half of the program covers core protocol development, layer 2 networks, applied cryptography, privacy, security and AI agents.

EthCC plans 500+ speakers and 200+ side events for EthCC[10]. The side events are run by other teams around the main program, so the week in Cannes is larger than the conference itself: the organizers expect 15,000+ people in the city while 8,000+ attend EthCC.

Why finance teams go to an Ethereum conference

Banks and asset managers that issue on public chains need the roadmap of the network they settle on, and EthCC is where that roadmap is discussed by the people writing it. A fund that plans a tokenized share class, a bank building custody, and a payment firm testing settlement in tokenized deposits all depend on decisions about data availability, fees and finality that are made in this part of the industry.

The regulation track matters for European institutions in particular, because MiCA now sets the rules under which a European bank touches a public network at all. Ethereum remains the base layer for most European tokenization pilots, so its development schedule reaches the product plans of institutions that never call themselves crypto companies.

When is EthCC 2027?

EthCC[10] takes place from 12-15 April 2027. The venue is the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès, 1 Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes, (EthCC). The conference moved to Cannes after its earlier editions in Paris, and the number in brackets identifies the edition: EthCC[10] is the tenth.

How big is EthCC?

The organizer expects more than 8,000 attendees at the Ethereum conference EthCC[10], with 500+ speakers and 150+ sponsors and partners. The figure for the city as a whole is higher, because the 200+ side events draw people who hold no conference ticket.

What else happens in Europe on these topics?

Several European conferences cover the same ground from a different angle, and the overview of crypto conferences in Europe sets out how the year is structured. In Germany the Crypto Assets Conference at Frankfurt School puts banks and supervisors on the same stage, and Frankfurt Digital Finance covers the wider digital finance agenda. Finance Loop runs its own meetups and webinars between these dates.

EthCC and Finance Loop

Finance Loop is the meeting place for Ethereum in European finance: its members work at banks, asset managers, payment firms and the infrastructure providers that build on the network, and they prepare for conferences like EthCC together. Finance Loop covers Ethereum in its Investment & Digital Assets track, from tokenized securities to settlement.

Finance Loop is a professional network supporting the institutional use of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and DeFi. Finance Loop helps its members build skills and personal networks in these fields: Investment & Digital Assets, Payments & Digital Money, Digital Infrastructure & Sovereignty, and Risk & Compliance.
