Frankfurt Digital Finance (FDF)

Corinna Egerer and Max Hunzinger founded Frankfurt Digital Finance. According to the conference website, Egerer has more than 20 years of experience in designing business events, and Hunzinger is managing director of MIT Event- & Incentive-Management, a company that has worked for financial services and industry clients for more than 25 years.

The organizers call FDF Germany's only English-speaking conference of its kind and give it the motto "Connecting the European Ecosystem". The conference links Frankfurt with other European fintech hubs, which is why the program, the speakers and the audience are international. The 2026 edition was the seventh.

The first day is the conference proper: keynotes, panels and workshops on the forces that move the financial industry. The 2026 program had five tracks: European capital markets integration, EU regulatory trends and supervision, open finance and SME banking, payments with digital money and digital assets, and generative AI with quantum technologies. Geopolitics and the economy framed the opening sessions.

The second day is European Fintech Day. It brings fintech startups together with banks, investors and strategic partners through a startup exhibition, masterclasses, fireside chats and a live pitch session. Frankfurt Digital Finance and European Fintech Day are sold as one event.

FDF draws decision-makers from banks and fintechs, investors, policymakers, regulators and researchers. Speakers at FDF 2026 included Piero Cipollone, member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, Stéphane Boujnah, CEO of Euronext, and Nicola Beer, Vice-President of the European Investment Bank. FDF 2026 took place at the Gesellschaftshaus Palmengarten, Palmengartenstraße 11, 60323 Frankfurt am Main, a historic event hall next to the botanical garden in the Westend. The conference website names Frankfurt as the city of FDF 2027. The European Central Bank, the Deutsche Bundesbank and BaFin all sit in the same city, which is why the regulators on stage often travel only a few kilometers.
