Luxembourg Blockchain Week

Luxembourg Blockchain Week is a four-day event on digital assets in institutional finance, held in Luxembourg from 8 to 11 December 2026. Two conference days in Kirchberg cover MiCA and the European MISP package first, then stablecoins, tokenization and asset management, and partners run side events on the last two days.

The Dots, a marketing agency in Luxembourg, organizes the week together with Digital Minds and continues the work of the Luxembourg Blockchain Lab. Its program puts regulators, banks, fund managers and technology firms on one stage, with short debates called battles between the panels.

Luxembourg Blockchain Week 2026: dates and venues

The 2026 edition runs from Tuesday 8 December to Friday 11 December. The opening day is a full conference day at Kinépolis, 45 Avenue John F. Kennedy in Kirchberg, and it ends with an opening dinner at EY Luxembourg on the same avenue at number 35E. On Wednesday 9 December a research session fills the morning, and the conference continues at Kinépolis in the afternoon.

Thursday 10 December belongs to side events run by partners of the week and to a padel tournament. On Friday 11 December the week closes with blockchain breakfasts and a closing party, and the organizers publish the detailed schedule of both days later. Registration for all four days runs through the official website of the event.

MiCA, MISP and DeFi on the opening day

The first conference day starts with a keynote on how crypto moved from experiment to financial infrastructure, followed by a debate on whether crypto is really an asset class. The panels before lunch ask where investors find alpha in crypto and who controls liquidity in a market that trades around the clock.

The afternoon of the opening day is about the regulation of crypto in Europe. A keynote asks what Europe has learned since the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation took effect, and a panel discusses what a MiCA 2.0 should keep, change or add. A second panel covers the Market Integration and Supervision Package and what it would change for the supervision of DLT markets, CASPs and cross-border activity. The day ends with a debate on the EU and US frameworks and with a panel on DeFi under MiCA, which asks who is responsible when there is no intermediary.

Stablecoins and tokenization on the second day

The morning of 9 December belongs to a research session on the state of blockchain and digital asset research and on what it means for industry and policy. In 2024 the research track came from the FutureFinTech center at the SnT institute of the University of Luxembourg.

The afternoon opens with a keynote on stablecoins as new financial rails and a debate on whether stablecoins will replace bank deposits. A panel then compares stablecoins, tokenized deposits and CBDCs and asks who will control digital money and its settlement. A second panel asks which tokenization projects are live today and no longer pilots. The last sessions cover the asset manager of 2030, crypto AML and KYC from on-chain analytics to investigations, and a debate on whether AI will replace the crypto compliance analyst.

Upcoming events on crypto and digital assets

Crypto conference in Luxembourg for the fund industry

According to the organizers, Luxembourg is the second-largest investment fund center in the world, and the conference days follow that market. The asset management sessions ask what investors will actually own once funds, portfolios and their distribution are digital.

Luxembourg has passed four blockchain laws so that securities can be issued and transferred on a distributed ledger, and these laws are the legal base of tokenization in Luxembourg. Fund managers that add bitcoin or other crypto-assets to a fund follow the CSSF rules for crypto funds in Luxembourg.

Organizers, sponsors and the Luxembourg Blockchain Lab

The Dots runs the TechSense event series in Luxembourg and organizes the week together with the agency Digital Minds. Earlier editions came from the Luxembourg Blockchain Lab of Infrachain, a nonprofit association of blockchain firms, and the new organizers carry that program forward. According to Paperjam, the fifth edition took place from 24 to 28 November 2025 with more than 80 speakers.

For 2026, Coinbase is a gold sponsor of the week together with EY and Ripple. The fund services firm CACEIS is the silver sponsor, and the law firms A&O Shearman and Clifford Chance support the event together with PwC.

Luxembourg Blockchain Week and Finance Loop

Fund managers, banks and crypto firms in the Finance Loop network follow the subjects of Luxembourg Blockchain Week, above all the supervision under MiCA and the tokenization of funds. Finance Loop discusses the fund side in the Investment & Digital Assets track and the rules behind it in the Risk & Compliance track.

Finance Loop is a professional network and has the goal of driving the institutional use of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and DeFi.
