Web3 Events
Web3 events are conferences, hackathons, meetups and side events about blockchains, tokens and the applications built on them. In Europe the large ones run as weeks with dozens of smaller gatherings around a main venue, and developers, founders, investors and people from banks meet in the same city for a few days.
The programs differ more than the names suggest. A developer conference like EthCC discusses protocol changes, an institutional conference talks about custody, tokenized funds and MiCA, and an evening meetup gives forty people a talk and two hours to speak with each other. Choosing the right event starts with the question a visitor wants answered.
The European conference calendar
The year starts in spring with conferences for developers and for institutions. EthCC is the conference that Ethereum France organizes for the Ethereum community, and its tenth edition runs from April 12 to 15, 2027 in Cannes. In Frankfurt the Crypto Assets Conference follows on April 7, 2027 on the campus of Frankfurt School, with banks, investment firms and supervisors in the audience.
June brings two weeks with different formats. Berlin Blockchain Week has no single owner, and in 2026 it counted 68 independent events across the city. Vienna Blockchain Week is a two-day conference for banks, asset managers and exchanges, set for June 2 and 3, 2027.
The former Paris Blockchain Week now runs as Signal Week, on July 6 and 7, 2027 at the Palais des Congrès in Paris, as described under Paris Blockchain Week. In autumn the TUM Blockchain Club, the student club of the Technical University of Munich, hosts the TUM Blockchain Conference from October 29 to 31, 2026.
Side events around the big conferences
Around every large conference, companies host breakfasts, panels, investor dinners and parties in the same week, often within walking distance of the main venue. Many visitors come only for these side events, because they are smaller, free or invitation-only and allow longer conversations than a conference hall.
For a host a side event is cheaper than a sponsor booth and reaches the people who are in town anyway. The risk is the crowded calendar: on the busiest evenings of a blockchain week several events compete for the same guests, so the invitation list and the timing decide more than the venue.
Events as a marketing channel for crypto firms
Exchanges and blockchain foundations use their own events to enter a market. The agency Hash Consulting plans investor dinners, product launches and meetups for such clients, including the guest list, the speakers and the sponsors. For the Sui Foundation it supported Sui Connect Paris, which drew more than 400 attendees, and for Bitpanda it organized an event together with FC Bayern Munich.
An event that addresses customers in the EU is a marketing communication under MiCA when it promotes a crypto-asset. The same rules apply as for an advertisement: the promotion must be recognizable as such and must not contradict the white paper of the token.
Upcoming blockchain and digital asset events in Germany
Web3 events in Germany
Germany has three centers for web3 events. Berlin hosts the developer scene and its blockchain week in June, Frankfurt the conferences on tokenized securities, custody and regulation, and Munich the TUM Blockchain Conference and the W3MUC meetups. The guide to web3 in Germany lists the groups that organize these events.
Crypto events coming up
The calendar above shows the next blockchain and digital asset events in Germany from the event database of YARD. Many meetups appear there only a few weeks before they take place, so a calendar or a newsletter finds more of them than a search for a single date.
Planning a crypto event strategy
A crypto event strategy starts with the audience and the market, not with the venue. A protocol that wants developers sponsors hackathons and technical workshops, while an exchange that wants retail customers in a new country needs local creators, a press moment and an event in the local language. Every event needs a follow-up plan, because the contacts made there need a second conversation before anything comes of them.
Hackathons and ideathons
Hackathons give developers one or two days to build a prototype on a chain or a protocol, usually with prize money from the sponsor. An ideathon is the shorter version for founders, and in Frankfurt Superteam Germany and the Blockchain Founders Group hosted the Web3 Builders Ideathon on March 25, 2025.
Web3 events and Finance Loop
Finance Loop runs its own meetups for people from banks, asset managers and fintechs who work with blockchain. The photo shows the Digital Assets Night on January 22, 2025, held at TechQuartier in Frankfurt, and on June 27, 2025 a Finance Loop meetup in Frankfurt covered blockchain oracles. Finance Loop is a partner of the Crypto Assets Conference and a community partner of the TUM Blockchain Conference 26.
Finance Loop is a professional network and has the goal of driving the institutional use of emerging technologies in finance, such as AI, tokenization, stablecoins, and DeFi. Finance Loop helps its members build skills and personal networks in these fields: Investment & Digital Assets, Payments & Digital Money, Digital Infrastructure & Sovereignty, and Risk & Compliance.
